I recently set up a 11.4 gallon rimless macro algae reef. I’m running it with a kessil a80 tuna blue and a aqua clear 50 filled with marine pure. I’m using roughly 7 to 8 lbs of Fiji live rock. This is intended to be a set up for a trio of blue striped pipes later on down the road as it matures. But I’m realizing that with just a trio of pipes the bio load will be so low it will cause the tank to crash. So, I’m sure I will eventually have to dose nitrate and phosphate as this has happened to me with other smaller reef tanks. So I’m looking for any good suggestions for tank mates that would live in harmony with the pipes fish and provide a decent amount of nutrients to the tank naturally. I’ve considered yasha goby but I’m concerned about their aggression in a tank so small with tank mates so delicate. I’m open to inverts as well! Any advice or suggestions?
