I am inquiring about the Taotronics LEDs. If anyone has had any experience with these or heard other opinions about them, please inform. Thanks for any advice.

I am using the same lights. Heres the picture of my frag tank with the blue on.

Does there tend to be more blue in the taotronics? It seems like every picture or video I see, there tends to be more blue with the tao compared to other LEDs. Thanks for posting.

There's another light called evergrow that's basically the same light.. you can also have them custom make led colors to have " full spectrum" and the option of optics or not with 2 dimmable channels.. that is what I'm running and love the variety of color choices and dimmable features.. also check out reefbreaders

As someone mentioned with evergrow there is also a Chinese outfit called the twilight group that will make you a custom "Chinese black box" for a reasonable price. I've ordered from them twice the first time I got one fixture decked out with built in timers dimmers and optics. This order I did without the timer and got a custom led color layout. The light with the timer was $190 shipped, I ordered 5 of my last order and they were righ around $140 each total.

if you don't want to deal with alibaba and the chinese things, reefbreeders make the same lights, a bit more expensive but you get 2 year warranty as opposed to 1 year and you get easier replacement parts, etc if something goes wrong. just an option for you.

I had run originally 1 over a 75g 4ft long and they kept lps/softies alive and growing, sps were barely growing if at all. they work and for the price you can't beat them (I only replaced them because I was able to get 2 AI sols and a controller for 440)

Personally I would stick with something American made and warrantied here. I have heard people waiting up to 2 months on warranty repairs from them.

Reef breeders makes a quality fixture, local guy has them and they work good. I have there refuge par 38 bulb and its growing algae great
