Tap water vs well water

Generally speaking, which is more reef safe, tap water or well water? Or can the quality of each vary too much source to source for a general rule?

Every tap is different. Every well is different.

best bet either way would be to run an RO/DI off whichever you choose

I'm going to bleach some old rock. Deciding between using tap or well water. RODI is preferred, but I don't think it's really necessary at this point, most of it is going into storage and the few pieces I'm using will be cycled and/or de-chlorinated if necessary.

I was assuming you meant for use in the tank.
If it’s just for bleaching the rocks I don’t think it matters one way or the other
