How should I feed GSP, I plan on getting some soon, I have coral frenzy food and some reef roids. There’s no fish in the tank right now,
so no nutrients from the poop. Or is the light enough? I have Orbit Marine LEDs.

I have no nutrients in the tank since it just completed it’s cycle, will that still be enough?

It sounds like you might want to do some more research - GSP’s are photosynthetic and get nutrition from their symbiotic zooxanthellae - any additional nutrient absorption is extra.

^^ they get their nutrients from light.
Only partially true. All corals benefit from additional nutrients beyond what they can produce via photosynthesis.
However, I wouldn't feed GSP if you plan on getting fish soon after, it is about as bomb proof of a coral as you can get.

Granted - that is absolutely the truth, all corals will do even better if you provide additional nutrients and elements required - my comment was more based on the whole "if I can think of one coral that does not typically require additional targeted feeding to thrive and spread, its a GSP" thought pattern.

IME this a coral that does not need to be fed. I've had this coral survive hours out of water during a move. Even though your test kits tell you that you have no nutrients, there is still enough present combined with photosynthesis

+1 ~ I put this coral up there with Xenia. They’ll survive if there’s good lighting. Yes, they need some form of nutrients in the water column but I could put these things in a bare tank with good light and they’d prosper. If I was trying to grow them out, I’d throw in a clownfish and feed it cheap pellets and the GSP would grow like a weed.

I testify to this being a nuclear explosion proof coral. I had a dino plague that wiped out all inverts and corals but three coral. Gsp, finger leather and a shroom.

If you do want to feed it make a little reef roids up and puff a little over the gsp. Don't go over board just a little and you will see a nice feeding response.

I had a crab decimate my whole colony and applauded his job. But he still walked the plank. GSP is a coral that I just eh... I no likey.

For me, the GSP will grow faster if you spot feed. I've had a colony for about 9 years. If I want it to slow down with growth, I stop feeding. If I wanted to make some frags, I feed it. Water chemistry and lighting of course are main factors.

Gsp grows fast without feeding, be careful were you put it, I’d recommend making a gsp island so your whole tank isn’t covered. Can be a nightmare as well.

Gsp grows within the blink of an eye. Once it gets established that suckers growth will increase a ton!
