I'm thinking of target feeding my corals, I know they benefit from being fed a couple times a week. I fed my corals for the first time yesterday, a bubble coral, acans, candy canes, a plate coral, etc.

I'm considering target feeding my LPS 4-5 times a week. Can corals be "overfed" (other than the usual issue of over feeding and too many phosphates.)

I just have seen my acans respond well to target feeding (and indirect feeding) and my plate has responded really well to feeding as well. So, just wondering if there can be too much of a good thing. aka feeding them once a day 5 days a week?

Evidently not something people do much of? I'm on day 3 of feeding my corals daily. So far they aren't minding the food. I guess we'll see what happens! I've heard with Acans they'll grow their skeleton more if one feeds them often. So, we'll see.

I used to feed but I don't anymore. I just let them catch fish food or plankton from the tank. My corals grow great.

i just brought my goni back from the dead by feeding abundently.i got a phosphate reacter going so just be carefull on rhe phos and nitrate spike.

They all benefit from frequent feeding, though some do more than others (goniopora is a prime example; they rarely last more than a year or two if not well-fed!)

I like to feed my corals daily...but then again, I'm a heavy feeder any way you slice it XD my leptastrea is showing a really surprising growth rate in spite of my numbers being rather high (I am in serious need of a skimmer) and my moon brain, a problem child from the beginning, appears finally to be starting to recover now that I've found something it will eat.

my goni was so far gone what i did was whien i fed my ciw fish i would feed the honi the juice. to expand. and it looks like it would expand by sucking tje juice mixed salt water. and bam just like that i would repeat the same process every fay now she is so beautifull

Yeah, they eat stuff like the juice and itty bitty tiny things. They apparently show a strong feeding response to striped bass blood ( http://www.reefkeeping.com/issues/2005-10/nftt/index.php), though I wouldn't be adding that to a reef! There's a food specifically for them now called goniopower developed by the article's author if you want to try it. :)

Yeah, good info's not always easy to find, especially on species that only recently are finally being figured out.

I feed the %*(* out of my corals, coral frenzy, 1/4 tsp to 8 oz tank water every other day when I am home, and when i am out of town for work, at least every other week. target or boradcast, I do both, and my corals love me for it

i feed mine 2 times a week changing it up with coral smoothie, mysis shrimp, and goiniopower. my lps like all 3 and r doing grate.

I've been feeding with Coral Smoothie for the last week and my LPS seem to be responding to it very well.
