Hello to All R2R Members and Merry XMAS
I'm thinking of stop target feeding all my corals.I knew that some vendors don't target feed their corals
Any suggestions?

I don't do it really, I am sure it helps but corals will do just fine without it.

When I target feed they grow a lot faster. It is hard to do for some corals I have at the bottom of the tank and those often need target feed :-)

I used to never feed my corals,,, until I did,,,and now that I do,, I will never not feed them again ,, I am feeding Fauna Marin LPS pellet food to Acans, Bowerbanki, Scolys. and polyps. Colors and growth on my corals are wayyyy better now than when I wasn't feeding. I am using the bigger pellets for the larger corals like Scolys & the Bowerbanki, smaller pellets for the Acans and Polys. I turn all my pumps and power heads off when I feed :) I am not sure if I am over doing it or not,, I am feeding pretty much every 3 to 4 days, no algae problems so far, I do have a good clean up crew and a Bi Colored Fox Face in the tank though.

I will say this though, you can't feed one time and then say,,, I really never noticed any difference,,, If you feed your corals Fauna Marin pellets ( I am sure other foods on the market are just as good,, its just what I am using ) you feed your corals for three months at least once a week,,, at the end of that 3 months,, you will never go back to not feeding your corals.

I do broadcast feedings. Mainly mixing my fish and coral food, both frozen, and just squirt into my powerhead. Keeps things floating for a few minutes and all the corals seem to get some.

I used to religiously target feed my acans, scolys, and chalices with mysis every week or two, then I got lazy and didn't target feed for at least 6 months. While feeding, growth and color was very good. Acans went from one to two head frags to 12 plus head colonies. I had to frag the chalices every 6 months.

Since I stopped target feeding, growth has slowed to a trickle, I lost one of my favorite acans, and I noticed a couple weeks ago that a couple of the chalices had areas of pigment loss. I started target feeding again.

I have started to target feed mine. I didn't see much growth in my rainbow chalices until I did. I didn't pay hundreds per frag to just stare at frags, I need those suckers to grow!

I been target feeding the acans we went in on since they hit my tank (usually target feed daily but since my nitrates and phosphates have climbed i will probably cut it back to 3-4 times a week now) and ALL of them have already spawned new polyps. wait till you see how much they have grown when you come over to pick up that shroom. if you have plenty of fish you dont need to feed the corals as much tho

I bought a Cherry Corals,,, Monster Machines acan,,, single polyp, a few months ago,,, has three babies growing around it,,,, it maybe 4 babies, I can't see the back side of the frag,,, they are about half the size of a dime,, just starting to get some nice color to them. I am sure feeding that single poly frag has contributed greatly to this growth :)
