Hey All! Not sure who all has had experience with The Coral Dudes but I thought I would let people know what has happened to me. I have ordered from them two times now. First time I ordered one of their custom frag racks. Order placed no issues got an email almost immediately with a link to check in on the status of my order and a note that said I would be update when my order shipped. Ordered on regular shipping. A week or so goes by and I got no email saying the order shipped so I decided to check the link. Order status still said order received we are prepping for shipping and will let you know when it has shipped. Gave it another week or so. No package, order status still said the same thing. I email them and get a response saying that it looks like the order got lost in shipping and that they would send another. I did finally receive a package from them a week after they resent the frag rack and was pleased with the quality of the item and still love the frag rack a lot. I was fairly frustrated though that my order status never updated the first time since they said it did ship and got lost and that I NEVER received a tracking number or shipping confirmation either time.

So being the coral addict I am I was doing my normal look through WWC and TCD websites at all the cool stuff. I found some Hell Froze Over acans 4 heads on TCD that I really liked and were unique (orange backing with teal stripes). Looked around some more and found JFox Miami Hurricane Chalice and an ORA Ponape Birdsnet. Decided that was enough likes to warrant me executing an order haha. I placed the order on Thursday evening with the added Saturday Delivery fee so I could get them Saturday while I was off work. I get home from work Friday night around 9pm CST and realize I never received a shipping confirmation or tracking number from them. I checked the order status link I received the day before and it still said order accepted and we are getting it ready. I sent an email immediately and explained that I placed an order thursday with saturday delivery and never got a shipping confirmation and wanted to know if it shipped or wasnt going to now till after turkey day. I got a super fast response that it had shipped and I would receive it today. I got up around 7am CST to wait for the Fed Ex guy and a few hours rolled by. I checked the order status again to look for a tracking number or something since they never sent me one even in the reply to my email saying it had shipped. I emailed them and asked if they could provide a tracking number for the shipment because I wanted to plan my afternoon out. Almost immediate response saying fedex says delivered left at front door and the tracking number. Confused i ran outside and boom little white box...who knows how long it had been sitting there in 40 degree weather. Stupid fedex didnt ring my doorbell, not TCD fault I know. I immediately open fearing the worst as the box was super cold. I get everything out and it was all really cold but looked alive and all really closed up. I noticed an extra acan piece in the box and was like oo freebee. I sent an email back to them saying it did arrive and explained fedex must not have rang my doorbell and it sat in the cold for a while and if I should let them warm up to room temp or go ahead and float the bags. Got an immediate response saying to go ahead and float them. I floated them all for about 30-45 min made sure they were the same temp as the tank and dripped acclimated for another 20-30. All looked ok so I plopped them all in my wonderful frag rack. It was still hard to see what the two acans really looked like. I knew what one should look like because the item said WYSIWYG 4 heads. I had one piece that had 6 heads and one that had one big head. The chalice and ponape birdsnest looked great and just like the pictures. I went and ran some errands and came back. The acans were finally open the single head looks to be purple and green stripes and the 6 head is a basic red and blue. I was really confused because that is not what I ordered by and means. I emailed them back and explained that I ordered the hell froze over acans 4 heads WYSIWYG and that I got a free piece that was one head purple and green and the other piece was 6 heads but just standard red and blue, no where near what was pictured in the order and was not the same piece by any means. Its been almost three hours now and I have gotten no response. All my other emails got a response in 20 min or less. Im starting to think I really got shafted on that nice acan piece.

Beware TCD does not send updates when your order ships or send you a tracking. Both my experiences reflect this and its fairly frustrating. The response time in the emails was nice until I brought up that I got sent a super basic common colored acan instead of the high orange and teal color that was pictured in my order. We will see what happens. The frag rack is very nice. I was surprised that my coral order did not have heat packs in it being that it was cold. Overall a frustrating vendor to deal with which is a shame because their products are nice and the website has some awesome corals but now I wouldn't trust what I see since the piece I got is nothing close to what I ordered.

Update...TCD never responded to my email about the Acan I received that was clearly not what I ordered, picture did not match in any way and the amount of heads on what I recieved was different than what was listed on the item. It was listed a WYSIWYG item. I will try and get pictures of what I received and post it in comparison with the picture of the item I purchased of their website.

Just saw this and haven't got any emails. I want to apologize in advance and promise that we always have mad every issue we have right. We ship ALOT of corals and sometimes, this happens. This is not how we conduct business and i apologize if the email got over looked. Please shoot me a email ASAP and ill send out the CORRECT coral. Again, we are only human and every now and then a mistake is made. i really apologize in advance. i will refund the price of the acan, ( pending pictures please ) and i will still send out the correct piece .

When we send out packages we look at the weather where its going. some times heat packs aren't always needed.

Please email me today and ill have this solved, sales at the coral dudes dot com

My name is phil and im the owner.

Again, sorry for the mix up!

Also, tracking is always sent to the email you use to pay with. It is entered in the website when we book the shipment for them to send automatic updates.
