Looking for some rodi recommendations for rodi systems for a 100 gallon tank. Tds results just came back from the lab at 1,000. Everything else is showing 0 (iron, manganese, etc...running katalox whole home with softner).

dang. City water? Well water? My city is about 500 that use chloramines. I use a 5 stage. It gets to 1 tps before the final stage. Maybe you need a 7 stage? I use bulk reef supplies rodi with TDS meter

Call Spectrapure or Buckeye Hydro, my personal recommendation would be for one of Spectrapure's higher end systems. But at 1000 TDS you're probably at best going to be getting 10 TDS out of your membrane which would, atleast IMO warrant an ATI or Trident test so you can set up an appropriate resin stage (Likely multiple stages).

Well water, it's an artesian spring, pump at 200ft into an underground cavern/aquifer. Very heavy iron, iron bac, and manganese... which is why I run a whole home katalox/carbon with air injection. 3 stages of sediment and pre-filters down to 5 micron.

I'm working with a drinking water company and they said there ro can get the tds from 1000 to about 70 easily with a standard system.

I'll try spectrapure, I've only seen the systems for resale I've never thought about going direct to them.

I'd give those two a call anyway, I've sent some of Spectrapure's membranes out to a few members just to see how well they actually work and one guy had 450+ TDS, got it down to 4-5, so I would think they could do better than 70 which atleast IMO isn't even worth running through DI....

id also go with the BRS 7 stage, OR you can also double up on RO membrane and the DI resins if you so choose. I dont know how much you're looking to spend but ive been running the BRS 7 stage since before they made the 7 stage kit haha. (i had to add extra inline canisters) runs like a champ and you can moniter your TDS before and after each stage.

dang that’s some high TDS. An in-line meter is definitely a must. I thank my city everyday for providing us with 40 TDS tap.

FWIW you can order directly from there site as well, only downside is you have to pay shipping unlike at a lot of Reef outlets. But I find a lot of Reef stores online either have mislabeled units or products and there pricing is off. Easier to just order from the source.

Called and left messages with both.

Got one response so far. Based on my low 20 gallon a week volume (once it's filled), the 40 tds after the membrane will eat up the resin quicker then expected, but it shouldn't be an issue. Recommended a 5 micron sediment>1 micron sediment>5 micron carbon (said 0.5 isn't needed since I don't have chloramines)>booster pump>ro membrane>mixed bed di. Also discussed the possibility of using some extra 10x4in canisters I have for an additional polishing mixed bed di resin or additional sediment filtration.

Actually just got a call from the other company... similar recommendations with filters at 0.5 micron. Also discussed using gac carbon for drinking water.
