I have a brute container that I want to use for my top off storage. The brute will sit in my garage and my top off water will be taken out of there to be put into my ATO. My question is the last time I checked my TDS, it was higher in my brute than coming out of my RO. Is there something to clean the container or soak the container in to drop the TDS down? I thought of filling it up with water and dumping in a gallon of vinegar, but not sure if it would do any good.

Any suggestions?

Vinegar will clean the calcium deposits out.
If its not too high I wouldn't worry about it. How do you fill the Brute? If you have a float valve it will soon be high again due to the way they make a RO membrane operate. When an RO starts up it has what is called TDS creep, they all have it and there is no way to prevent it. When a float valve drops an inch or so the RO comes back on again sending that surge of high TDS water to the storage or through the DI resin depeleting it quickly. It is best to shut the unit off once a week or however often works for you and allow the Brute to drain down so you get a nice long RO filter run to dilute the TDS creep.
I use float switches set about 11 gallons apart so my RO does not cycle on and off and must drop at least 11 gallons before it starts again, this way I do not see the effcets of TDS creep.

You will also get dissolved CO2 in the RO/DI water which registers as TDS when you store it in an open container. Keep the lid on and dust out and it should not be a big issue.
