TDS is higher after my DI resin??

So I have been having higher TDS out of my RO/DI unit as I think my TDS meter that is in my BRS unit wasnt working right when it's hooked into the IN/OUT on my DI Resin container. If I take it off the unit it works fine.. strange..

Anyways I replaced my filters and even the membrane last month but before the water hits the unit with the DI resin I get a reading of 004 but after the resin it reads 025.

I even used another TDS tester and it came out to the same results..

Any thoughts?

I was having the same issue, it went away once I replaced my DI resin. My resin wasn't spent (color change), but it worked...

Hmmm I just restocked my resin.. well half anyways.. I'll try replacing the full amount.

Not sure why the TDS meter won't work when it's connected to my unit and then works when it's not..

Did you try letting it run for a bit? Like 10 minutes or so? DI packed tight?

Please don't be offended, but when you look through the T, can you see the probes?
They need to be fully seated and perpendicular to the water flow.

haha no worries. I did take off the tubes and made sure that they are clear and that the water can run through freely.

I did pack it but not super tight and let run for 15-20 min.

Ill test it again tonight.

Try adding another gasket to the top of the cartridge .... getting it tight is key! Had this problem with a different unit and worked like a charm

Make sure the gasket is present, and that the canister is oriented appropriately. If it isn't, flow will not be directed appropriately (outside -> inside through resin -> out).

I now have a dino outbreak because I carelessly placed my carriage in wrong and used bad water for too off.

FWIW, the single most important thing we do is use perfect water. I run 7 stages to ensure perfect water. 1 micron sediment, 1 micron CTO carbon block, 0.6 micron CTO carbon block, chloramine specific carbon block, RO with RO buddy booster pump (> 95 psi even with washer running), DI resin, spectrapure silicabuster resin. Just putting it out there as a reference.

My inlet is 125 tds. I get 96% membrane efficiency roughly. TDS after pre-filters before RO is 106 ish, and prior to DI 4-6.

So what was the issue with this? I pre DI I get .004 and post DI I get .003. I have a 2-stage DI setup.

I’ve ran my unit to fill up a 45 gallon container a few days later I went to top off my container and my di water was higher then the water going in I changed the resin and it did the same thing. My water going in is about 217 TDS and coming out of the unit my TDS was over 375. This is my second unit in about 6 months and the others Aqua fox did the same thing. What’s going on??
