I have a dual hm tds inline of my spectrapure ro unit. It reads 7tds in and 7 out because i dont use deion resin die to co2. However i have a handheld from china that reads 12 tds. Which is right? Well i believe the hm is because it calculates my membrane is 98-99% efficient. So id get a good one.

If you want a really good one thst can even measure the salt of your water you can get an orion. This will do both tds and consuctivity.

I have this model below. Its accurate and not made in China. I have two dual TDS meters on the RODI, but I constantly hear the cheap ones are just an "indicator" and not highly accurate or reliable. Its a super useful tool.

FYI the price on Amazon seems high right now, I got it for a little less.

I have the tds meter that came on my brs rodi as well. I just want to be able to spot check periodically to make sure I’m really getting what I think I’m getting.
