I have one and it seems to work fine. Both it and my inline meter from spectrapure read zero on my RO/DI.

Spend $20-$25 and get a good, reliable, name brand TDS meter like the HM Digital TDS-3 or TDS-4TM. Places like www.spectrapure.com or www.buckeyefieldsupply.com have them.
Cheaper meters do not have the resoultion or accuracy, many are not auto temperature compensated and do not have digital thermometers built in and may not read in 1 TDS graduations. Look for +/-2% accuracy, 1 ppm resolution up to 999 and by 10's up to 9999, Auto Temperature Compensation (ATC), a meter with a removable cap for storage and which is easily calibrated using standard solutions.

Tds-3 model on eBay $9 free shipping looks identical to hm model just a third of the price. Waiting on it to get here takes almost a month but think it will be worth it.

Post the link, I doubt its the same quality meter for $9 and with free shipping. Just because something looks the same is not a good indicator, the Chinese are masters at copying things but the quality is not the same.

It sure seems hard that china would go thru so much trouble to make a exact replica of a tds meter but you never know! I'm sure some one on here's has bought one. Top one is 9 bottom one 25. Not trying to argue just curious just like everyone else.
Digital TDS-3 Meter Tester Filter Water Quality Purity | eBay there's probably 150 of them on eBay. Looks identical to me

Beware - Ebay is FULL of Chinese knock offs - for example, the meter in the first pic in the post above is a counterfeit.

Thanks for the responses.Im gonna splurge a little and buy the better one.I Guess if it sounds to good to be true it probally is.Thanks again everyone!!!!!!

Well I did some online shopping and ended up dropping almost $300 on stuff from BRS including a good tds meter. Now i cant wait to get my new toys!!!!!!!

Sorry you went that direction, you could have done much better fss money. Check out the Buckeye site which belongs to Russ who was giving you sound advice or Spectrapure which has been selling engineered reef quality systems for over 25 years, both are head and shoulders above the off the shelf stuff they offer. You really do get what you pay for and while I wish you luck I think we will be seeing you on here in the future.

Im not really sure what to make of some of your post:
1) Im not sorry that I went with the direction I did
2) I think I ordered a good product for the money(time will tell)
3)I did check out his website and decided make make a larger order of stuff I need from a different website to save on shipping
4)I also thanked everyone(including Russ) for their advice
5)I wish you the best of luck as well in our hobby and life
6)Of course you'll be seeing me a lot on here, I LOVE R2R!!!!!!!

It is an addicting hobby for sure but very rewarding. I've been hooked for over 30 years myself.
The reason I said what I did was BRS sells middle of the road RO/DI systems and supplies, there are much better out there and often for less money. I love their bulk chemicals and just mixed up some calcium, alkalinity and 2 part magnesium this morning but their RO/DI knowledge is lacking.

I agree with you and 30 years in our hobby is an accomplishment to say the least. This january will be 10 years for me(im only 26).Im sure there is better ro/di stuff sellers out there and im sure there is worse than BRS.None the less I thank you for your advice and wish you and your reef the best of luck.
