TDS readings best level

Hi. My ro water is testing 2 amd the resin is about 40% discoloured in the chamber. I know 0 is optimal but I have read online some people go to 10 which I find hard to believe. At what reading do you change our filters? I am also getting a lot of cyno could this be causing it.

If it goes over 1 then I change mine. My incoming is only 70 though so my filters tend to last a little longer but I burn through the DI resin
