I'm currently filling up my 160g tank with RO/DI WATER through my BRS75GPD the inlet it hooked up to my water hose and it's been running for about 3 hrs and I'm TDS is reading 1ppm coming in and 0 going out(to the tank) I know it's excellent going into the tank but is it even possible to have 1ppm from a home water supply? And I've seen on here where reefer's let their Rodi unit get to 5ppm before they change filters. Did I even need a unit if my TDS is reading this low? Can I do Auto top off straight from my tap? 14950805204531435760147.jpg to tank

Guess you may need to make sure it is hooked up properly. 1ppm is very good. Some people don't even get that on their output. Probably wouldn't need one with 1ppm. You can always test it with a tds tester to make sure it is correct. Mine gets as low as 47, which I considered excellent. But 1ppm is outstanding.

I'll venture a guess that the "in" is most likely after the RO filter and before the DI filter. Can you take a picture of the in sensor? and trace the hoses so you're sure what it's measuring?

yes that is where it is reading i have the 6 stage and it reads after RO then after first DI and then the output

1 PPM after RO and before DI sounds about right!

Ok awesome but do I even need the di stage if I'm only reading 1ppm I see that some guys get up to 5 before they change filters?

I'd leave it. Your resin will just last longer. Some people use straight tap water (some out of ignorance) without problems, but what works for one will not necessarily work for all. I like to play it safe and stick with 0. Just my opinion though. I don't have any data to support it.

Yes, because that 1 ppm may be things that RO does not easily remove that you do not want (ammonia, silicate, etc.) and a DI will last a long time anyway if the input is really 1 ppm TDS.
