here is a rendering with the stand skinned..

my current tank has smoke glass panels on the stand and i really like the look and ease of quickly looking into it. so i'l thinking about using 1/4" smoke acrylic.

on mounting the panels thinking about using some push release latches..

Stand is made of 1.5" steel and thinking the skin will be made with 3/4" thick ply or something.
