Randy would upping magnesium with tech m impact the rest of my elements? I been keeping my reef stable with NSW parameters and some how introduce a frag that had bryopsis and now I have a few rocks with a few spots. So if I'm wanting to dose tech m to get rid of it. Do you have any other remedies for bryopsis?

This might not work for your particular situation, but I had a few frags come in with bryopsis that i staged on my frag rack. Within a month or so the rack itself and several other frags had a lot of bryopsis on them. I ended up dosing the entire rack in vinegar and using a syringe to target dose peroxide on the bryopsis on the frags.

Did target dosing peroxide worked

Yep, you just have to be very very careful. I got some on some zoas and it fizzed up, the zoas closed, but opened in a few days. I think the peroxide I used I got from walmart, i think its 10%? I also spot treated some around the base of a few acros with success, the stony corals didn't seem to care as much as the zoas, but again use extreme caution! I did rinse everything in tank water before returning it to the display.

As mentioned, if you do use peroxide treatment, rinse thoroughly or else you'll lose you crustys.

Oh so you didn't do it inside the display?

Tech M worked very well for bryopsis when I had an outbreak and really the only downside is it made some z&p's and softies unhappy for a while.

However... as I understand it there's more to it than magnesium and there was something else about that formula that made it work so well. I did mine over a year ago but everything I have seen now says they changed the formula and it no longer works for bryopsis. I had a blowup in my tank and spot treatment was not an option.

Tech M will boost magnesium and chloride (both impacting salinity), but probably nothing else noticeable without a Triton test.

Some fish eat it, such as some foxfaces and rabbitfish.

FWIW, TechM did nothing for the bryopsis I had. This was a while ago and don't remember off hand with out looking it up but I know I went over 1800 for a bit. Snails went lethargic over I think 1500 and comatose over 1800. Eventually they woke back and and started moving again.

That was the only reaction I got with it. I got a magnificent foxface and it did eat some of it. It ate everything. Beautiful fish.

So, basically good luck and it has worked for some people. YMMV
