Well after I gave away my 180g and all livestock to a lucky person on r2r last year, I’ve finally settled in my new place and picked up a Craigslist special, 60 cube!

As always, a no qt tank!

Started repainting the stand and the canopy!

About time to plumb add sand and rock.

Nixing the sand, going bare bottom and ordered 6 bulb t5 retro kit for lighting. 3 blue, 1 coral, 1 purple and a special blue.

Now to sort through my 300lbs plus of rock to add to this lil guy. Such decisions...

Fish I’ll def add some fire fish, goby, Blenny, maybe I’ll try some pipefish.

it’ll be a mixed reef with lps, spa, and zoas.

Not much going on, just slowly making water and filling up until my danner mag 5 return pump comes in along with my retro kit and bulbs.

Decided this build will be skimmer less and yes I will have sps. I will put the skimmer in for a about a week so once cycled just to get. The initial cycle nastiness out.
I’m going to employ an in fuge ats system as my main nutrient export, nothing better than good ole au natural gha!

I did a 2 week cycle then started adding fish.

Yeah I love the footprint of the 60. I’ve had all the big aquariums all the way up to 210 and my current 60 is my favorite. Can’t wait to see it finished.

Added second powerhead and looking for some zoas and acans now.

Added 2 new fish and cleaned all rock from ugly phase. Sunrise and purple dottybacks.

Ended up using using my skimmer from my 180 which is way over kil lol but it works well!! A PSK -300

I’m right there with you on the no quarantine. And I really hope it doesn’t bite me in the butt by saying it! Lol

I’m also getting a shipment of corals in tomorrow and those won’t be quarantined either. Not by choice, but because I ordered some coral Rx, and it won’t be here in time. Oh well.
