i wondering how the switches work for these? i bought a used one and two bulbs arent working and i'm trying to figure out why. it's either the ballasts or the endcaps. either way cheap fix. heres how they are running now. thanks for looking in advice
front to back (back being the power cords and two switches.)
on second switch
on first switch
on first switch
off ???
off ???
on second switch

If im not mistaken, the middle four are on the same switch. So if two are working and two are not then it would probably be the endcaps.

Not necessarily the case. The two outside do run on a ballast of their own. And the four middle ones have their own ballast as well. However the middle ballast will either run two or four, not three or one. That's not to say that it isn't the end caps but this will help you determine the end caps functionality knowing that only two at a time will. These ballast are relatively cheap if they are the advance ballasts. Either 30 or 50$. Hope that helps.

thanks. i'll get some endcaps first since they're only $0.95 and probably just get a dozen to replace them all since i'm doing four of them.

You shouldn't need to buy the caps since when you open them up it is very easy to diagnose wether the points on the bulb are making a clean contact or not. Before spending the money on them and having to re-wire all of them, just take a look. Considering you will have to just do it again when you change the ballast anyway.
