Tell me this is a sunset monti...

ok guys, some local guy is sold a monti on reefcentral for the first time and it is about 2.5" x 2.5". anyways, it was a beautiful sunset monti and he sold the thing for 35 bucks!!! he had no idea that it was a sunset, i tried telling him and he still doesnt believe me. the sad thing is, hes been in the reefing business for 4 years i believe. here's the link:

Naw it isnt a True Sunset.

IF it isn't orange base or some color of orange base under all light then I would say no....I have had mine under shade and it was still orange, not as bright as it is now but still orange. If he says it turns purple under bright light then I would say no then too.....

i was thinkin that, but i would still not sell that piece for 35 bucks. at least 60 for a piece that nice and big.

Just courious about your avatar???? I know it a viking but from what school? A friend of mine had drawn that for our high school about 30 years ago?

Not a sunset for sure. How can you fault the guy for selling for 35.00... not everyone in this hobby is in it for the money. Its not always about greed.

top of the tank or the bottom mine still keeps the same color

my sunset was orange when i bought it and now it's just bland tan. must be low nutrient problem.

I agree, I do not think it is a true sunset monti. Mine retains the bright orange coloration in high or low light. My polyps are also closer together and the growth of mine and others I have seen seem different than the one pictured.
