Temp calibration

Does anyone have something known to be accurate that I can calibrate my temperature probe on my Apex with? I have two other digital thermometers like you get from Petco and they are reading ~2 degrees different and I can't trust either of them as a result.

According to Neptune the Apex temp probes are calibrated at the factory and do NOT need calibration. They do not recommend calibrating it via the unit.

Too late now. It has an offset applied and it won't default back.

If there is enough interest the club could get a NIST Traceable thermometer.

Don't worry if it is anything like mine it will soon break and they can recalibrate it when you send it back in for repair.

Everything on my tank is made in Germany except for this controller and it is the only piece of equipment that has ever failed me. It has done so twice now. My EB8 is on it's way back to me after a $100 repair. Quality stuff!

I think I remembered the offset and was able to get it back there. Would still be nice to verify with a NIST thermometer.

You know im with you on this i think stuff made in the U.S. has drop quality and i think is so people would have to continue buying. It seems that most stuff made overseas are being getting made with higher quality. For example cars and you can experience this on any mechanic shop and salvage yards you will see plenty of gm, dodge and fords from the 90,s till 2000 but very few imports. Getting back on the subject i wonder if there is any german controller?
