Hello I was thinking of getting a small canister filter to help pick up the stuff floating around in my 30gal reef tank after I blow off the rocks with my turkey baster. Does anyone have an opinion or have you done this your self? It would just be on for a couple hours to keep the junk from floating back down onto the live rock. Its kind of like a temp vacuum cleaner.. lol THX

Thx Anymore info. There has to be some more that have thought about it.. It seems like the only thing to do if you cant vacuum the gravel!!

Years ago I use to use a diatom filter once a month when i did a major cleaning. When the motor froze up on the filter, is when i stopped. It was a pain to get that filter primed. But it did a great job of cleaning my tank up!!!
