With the addition of my lights I noticed the water temp gets up to about 80 now. It used to stay at about 75. I raised the lights but still having the problem, I lowered my AC in the house and that seemed to help but is there any other way to keep temp down some? I don't have a heater in my tank or anything.

74 -82 is perfectly fine for the tank unless you are gonna have sea hoarses. I wouln't worry about it

Actually large daily changes in temperature will adversely affect corals. 80 degrees is fine if it stays consistent. One way to control excess heat from your lights is to have a small fan running above the water timed the same as the lights.

Thanks for the reply! I didn't know it could go up to 82. I have a 29g tank, I'm using ocean revie artic t27 and I have them about 10 inches above the tank.

Clip on fan blowing over the tank or sump will help a great deal.

I have always allowed my temps to swing (( around 5 degrees depending on the time of day/year )), without any issues. If you stay within the normal range of your corals you will be fine. IMO/E, allowing swings will help when/if there is a temp spike or drop.
