Hi,

I think I had a temp spike in my tank. My girl friend showed me a photo of the tank thermometer reading 84 (from usual 77). I came back and the temp was back at 77. Now my anemone has shrunk to about half in size. It would have been the sun hitting the temperature sticker but I think it was legit. Anyone have any idea how my anemone will hold up and or how long it will take to recover?

I think the temp spike was due to my heater being too far out the water, longest it could have been like that for is 12 hours.

Thanks

Get a real thermometer and not any of those glass sticker types.
Also, keep you tank out of the sun.
And if your heater is out of the water, that is a huge hazard. Make sure it is properly submerged.

Our central air went out last summer for a day. Tank temps hit low-to-mid 80's, even with floating ice bags. All of my BTAs got stressed and split, but within a few days they were all back to normal. Still going strong now, months later, just twice as many of them. :D
