I have a mystery temp spike in my tank. I keep my temp right around 77. The other night my apex sent me an alarm that the temp was 80.00. It’s not my heaters causing this issue. I have been about 1-1.5° warmer than usual with. I heaters kicking on. According to the apex my heaters have not gone on in a few days. I keep my house around 68 year round. I’m assuming a pump is heating up the water but I can’t figure out which one. They are all cool to the touch. Any ideas?

Have you double checked the temperature with another thermometer?

I would unplug one pump at a time, see if temp drops over a couple hours, then move to next pump.
What pumps do you have?

I have a Jebao dct 15000, maxspect gyre, sc302 Skimmer, brs dual reactor, and a Jebao wavemaker. All about 8 months old. Checking them one at a time now. First up is the Skimmer.

I have a newer Jebao dcp 15000. Tomorrow I’ll take the dct12000 out clean it and use that as my back up. The Jebao is the likely culprit but I’m going to test everything just in case.

Its your jebao pump when i got it i had a issueswith the temp npw us gone and everything’s ok
