noticed my clowns were acting funny, the temperature just spiked to 83 degrees in the past hour. It usually hangs around 79-80 degrees but it has never been above 80. What should I do? I don’t want them to stress.

Fan blowing across the tank will help cool it down; and hunt down why it’s so high. A heater malfunction maybe?

I would take the heater out completely. Do you have a heater controller like an ink bird or apex, or are you relying on the heater’s internal thermostat?

I have an inkbird, heater is unplugged, waiting for it to cool and then I’m taking it out. I always have a spare so I’ll put the new one in.
