Morning

I got up this morning to discover my return pump has not been running, most likely since yesterday.

Temp in the tank has dropped to 73. Fortunately everything still seems alive for now.

I'm heating it up again, I just added an additional heater in my sump but am concerned that maybe I should heat it slowly so as not to shock everything?

Thoughts?

hi ,cold is better than hot,but yes slowly raise temp, pump working now?
low oxygen level would be a concern if not.

Yes pump back on now.
My powerheads were running and one is close to the surface so hopefully they'll pull through.

Funny thing is my bubble and hammer corals are looking fully fluffed up and happy as larry. Everything else is kinda lethargic though ;Nailbiting ;Nailbiting ;Nailbiting

sounds like you dodged a bullet here, yes the colder water slows down metabolisms ,things should start to perk up as day and temp goes on. :)

Yeah totally. Ok feeling a little better now. I hope the little fellahs make it through ok.

I'm going to treat it as a blessing in disguise though. I'll take the time to program some proper alarms on my apex to make sure this never happens again.
