So im on vqcation and am monitoring my tank right niw ny temos at 84.8. Normally I keep it around 77. I juat have sone fish chalices zoas acans. I have 2 metal halids and 4 t5s right now the metal halides are off and have been off. Is this okay im havkng my tank watcher go out and get a clip on fan hopefully this works. Do you think I sbould be paranoied or is this temp ok till sunday

I'm assuming you turned the air conditioner off as well when you went on vacation. Can you use that smart phone to call someone to turn the air on? Otherwise, next time just leave the smart phone at home.

I just had em turn on the ac. Im hoping thay helps. I hear those fans can drop temp by 4 degrees. Is 84 bad?

I put a box fan over my sump and it only dropped my tank from 86 to 84. But it is currently 87 in my house. I'm about to put another fan blowing across the top of the display to see if that will help. I have to buy an ac tomorrow morning when I get paid before I kill everything in my tank.

just remember that when you use a fan you will have a lot more evaporation. So if you dont have an ATO and keep it filled you could fry your return pump.

84* isn't bad if you let your tank's temp normally go to that temp. If you keep your tank at a steady 77*, then it could be an issue.

I let my tanks go from 76-85*, depending on the time of day/year -- biggest swings during Spring/Fall when the windows are more likely to be open. Have had one of my tanks spike to 89* for at least 4 hours -- zeros issues.
