was is a good temperature to keep coral and fish my local aquarium store say 77 I read the tread and I s anywhere for 72 to 80 confused

77 or 78 is just fine. No one magic number. What's important is picking that number and sticking to it. Hope this helps.

EDIT TO ADD: Also depends on what you wish to keep...I.e. Seahorses require a colder tank.

Fish only 76-79,,, coral 79-82,,, both hmmm, what would you do?? Most keep it at 78-79 for a reef.

I have both fish and corals. not looking to have anything crazy like seahorses just some fish and corals like torches, hammers, frogs and zoa's. I think if you keep temp stable you be fine, I am pretty sure that the corals will react to a temp spike like from 72 to 80.. I try to stay between 76 and 77

I keep my corals and most fowlrs at 26 Celsius. That's 78-79 Fahrenheit for me :)
My current fowlr is at 78-79 aswell, but I plan on dropping it to 69-70 as I have fish that like cooler water.

I do have seahorses so my tank runs between 74-72 degrees. However my seahorse tank is connected via sump to my LPS tank which I used to run 80-78 degrees. I lowered the LPS tank very slowly and the corals or fish never missed a beat. As long as the temps stay consistent most corals and fish will adapt in reasonable temperatures.

Looking at the graph from my APEX, I go from 76.4 to 81.1, with an average of 79.5.
