Hi,
The chamber that contains the out pipe in my reef octopus HOB starts to fill very quickly when I adjust the collection cup. I reckon that if I moved it more that 5mm per second the chamber starts the fill quickly with water (the air funnel going into the out pipe disappears). I have to dive for the power point and have stopped it around 1cm from overflowing (very close).
My question is: is this normal, should I potentially raise the protein skimmer higher to increase gravity? i did slightly shorten the intake pipe so I could have the collection cup higher (it was not skimming off the surface). Should this have changed the physics / siphon ?
Cheers,
Conal
