Hi all. I have a 150 gallon mixed reef tank and I live in Greece, which means quite hot summers. I have a heater for winter, keeping the temperature ant 26-25 degrees Celcius but over this summer I lost 3 fish, which I can only attribute to the temperature climbing to about 30 degrees over a couple of days (am I right in assuming this?). So I am looking for ideas for a temperature control system. Chillers seem pretty expensive, so I was thinking maybe a fan based system with a dual controller? Please share your ideas, thanks

Blowing a fan over the surface of the water will aid in evaporation that will inherently lower tank temperature as well. Subsequently you're going to increase the amount that is topped off, be sure you have adequate RODI water on hand.

Having a fan blowing across the sump as well as the tank will keep temperatures down.
