Temperature monitoring

Hey guys I was wondering what everyone is using to monitor their tank temp. I have been using a little cheap one but it has been reading very high so I decided to get 2 more for a quick fix to just average them all out. But now I am even more lost because I have 1 that is reading 81 1 that is reading 70 and 1 that is reading 68. Everything in the tank is fine and thriving but I have no idea what the real temp is

A general rule of thumb is pick a reliable temp monitor for your heater and stick with it.

I recommend a ranco.

I have a Helio controller with 2x Titanium heaters backed up by APEX outlet with limit via APEX temp probe. Separate Jagger heater with set point lower (76deg) on different APEX outlet. I have BigTemp with probe in the overflow (give me DT temp, temp of canopy, and humidity in canopy. Finally good old mercury thermo in the sump.

I run wifi version of inkbird controllers on 3 tanks. Have been running them since before the wifi versions were out. I've only had one fail and inkbird replaced it under warranty. They even have one that does heat and cool if you run a fan in summer. Also one with two plugs for 2 heaters on single controller. The later is my fav as I always run 2 heaters. Nothing fancy but they work and will send notifications if you have the app allowed to, I'm on android.
