hey i just got a Inkbird 308 SA to read temperature in the tank and shut off the heater if it gets stuck on. With the heater plugged off for a few hours the Ink Bird reads 82.3F in the tank with protein skimmers, 2 return pumps, MP40, and Radion Xr15 while reading 78.1F in the tank without any filtration and heater. the house temp is 75F and i live in california so i’m wondering if this is normal

It’s possible due to water temperature changes lagging behind air temps. I would recommend getting an accurate thermometer to check your tank’s temp. Something like the tracacble ones or the Hanna.

Not entirely sure what you are asking. It is certainly possible that the return pumps you are using are adding 3 degrees of heat to the tank. It’s also possible that the inkbird is off.

thanks for the suggestion
