I'm in the uk and am just setting up my new tank. I've only got snails in so far. I was advised to run at 26 degrees centigrade. I have a probe in the tank, and fans in the hood. The temperature in the day is going up to 26.3, I've set the fan to come on at 26.1. But at night it's dropping to 25, is this to much of a drop?

I don't want to have to change the thermostat on the heater morning and night and don't really want the fans to be running all day. What would be a happy medium and is a 1.3 fluctuation too much?

I run 26-27 Celsius during summer, some nights it dips down to 25.5ish but I haven't had any problems. 1 degree isn't much fluctuation even 1.5 isn't much. As long as the temp swing stays the same then it's all good

Thanks for that, I was worrying about it being to high. I might alter slightly so it goes up to 26.5 in the day and then it would probably only drop to 25.5 at night. It won't need the fan running so much that way.
