Thanks for the reply broke means it stopped working since midnight,Yes I raised slowly to 78 now.he is laying on ground and still gasping.when you say broke.....
did the heater actually break? ir did it just stop heating.
if it actually broke, there could be contaminants in the water from inside the heater. If this is the case then do a large water change (if its just a Qt, then 100%) and possibly run carbon. This will stop any medication that you're doing and require you to re-start treatment.
if the heater just stopped working and didn't physically break, i'm not sure what else you can do other than raise the temp back up slowly.
How low did it get? what do you normally run at? what is it now?
no,I will put powerhead to floor now
68-70 I guessHow cold did the tank get?
He is trying to swim now after putting powerhead at surface and air stone, also I did 30 min bath with methylene blue.will post update tomorrow. How is your fish doing now?

Thanks man,I turned off lights and kept air bubble.fingers crossed..he is not eating, its been 2 days..do you have any suggestions on feeding?I had an extended power outage during a blizzard that had my tank down to low 60's, and the only loss of life was an invert or two. Nothing was /happy/, but they all recovered.
My bet is on O2 as well. Keep it aerated and stress free! I'd suggest lights off if you can and let the fish recover.![]()

seaweed is there and will see.thanks manDon't stress the tang more by trying to get him to eat...
With mine, I fed brine shrimp or mysis, and I'd mix it up with a little tiny bit of garlic powder in a glassware before using a baster to put a bit in at a time. But if he is stressed and doesn't want to eat, making a mess of food he won't touch in the tank won't help.
If you have nori (dried seaweed) and a little magnet clip or anything like that, you can add a bit in. Or rubber band it to a piece of rock and drop that down. But importantly, wait until the fish has recovered from the gasping and laying still. In my rather limited experience, they have no desire to eat until they aren't stressed.
