Temperature swing

I don't know if this is truly in the right section but I couldn't find anything any closer.

So I am curious as to how much temperature swing is ok? I have a controller and haven't had to deal with temp swings in quite a while and don't really remember how much is more easily tolerated. My temperature normally swings from 77.7 - 77.0 and goes no further in either direction but for some reason it swung down to 76.1 this afternoon. It doesn't seem to be repeating, getting that low, but I need to know if this is something i need to address or not.

General consensus is +/- 2°F within 24 hours.

That is no concern, and there are scientific articles that corals accustomed to temperature swings become more resistant to problems from extreme temperature excursions (such as in a power failure).
