Hi I have a retro kit with 2 250 watt hqi metal halides. A couple months back one of the tempered glass covers shattered. Yes alot of the pieces landed inside the tank. Where can I find these. The thinness is 3/16 and it's 12 inches in width and 6 1/2 inches in height. Please if someone knows where to buy them. Please let me know. I need them fast my corals are starting to suffer.

What type of fixture was it and have you tried contacting the manufacturer? Stinks because I have broken several myself.

Can't find the company I bought it from. it was an eBay store called buildyouraquarium. They have no eBay auctions and can't find them on line either. If someone knows the contact info it will help greatly.

You can probably get them at a glass shop. They may need to order the tempered glass but they should be able to get it in the size you need.

The problem is most of the ebay lights are chinese made generics. While they work just fine, they become almost disposable because the companies don't stay around very long, or at least not as the same name... I think some have gotten better, but spending a little more for a proven company up front can prevent issues like this. Trust me, i've been in your shoes before so I know how hard it is to find parts for imported ebay stuff.

You could attempt to troll through some of the online stores and check sizes of the replacement glass for other models. Maybe you will luck out and they used a standard size that is used on another model of light.

Agree with u 100%. I learned my lesson. It started when the ballast went and I had the same problem. I just bought new ones that r made by a us company. Lesson learned for sure.
