Anyone have any idea if there is a correlation between temperature of the water and the corals intake of ALK/CAL/MAG elements?

I'm my aquarium I drop the summer temp of 80 down to 78 for the winter months. It seems like the drop in temp made my params go up quite a bit. I've went from dosing 120ml's per day of 2-part down to 80mL's per day in the past month. I've lowered the temp over two months time very slowly...

I was wondering if warmer temps make the corals grow faster which would take up more supplements???

It more be more of a factor with your test kits than the actual concentrations but concentrations will vary with temperature. I wouldnt expect two degrees to be enough to change the actual concentrations significantly.

There was a thread on the main board about coral growing faster in warmer water. Didn't say that he dosed more but sounds logical. That guy also lost everything fast to a bacterial problem I think the warmer water sped up the process.

There is a correlation between the two. If I remember correctly the higher the temp the faster stony Corals metabolism runs thus using up more elements.

I'll have to chart out the tanks usage of additives versus temperature to show the correlation. It mainly seems to affect ALK at this point in time.
