Tendril from Hermit crab shell

Another one. Strange tendril that retracts when the hermit moves over rocks or is bumped. Vermetid snail??

Bad hydroid. I forgot the exact type but maybe someone else will chime in.

I'm reading about these and they sound like a nightmare. There have been specks on the glass that match the description of young hydroids perfectly.
