Tenurepro's Redsea Reefer 250

I am pulling water from the skimmer compartment, down to a collection container in the basement (so I can use dirty dt water to do water changes on my evo frag tank). Then I pull new salt l water from the basement and add it to the return section of the sump. I would only typically do 2.15 L per day (to Match my regular routine of 15L weekend wc) but because of the contamination in the last icp test, I am doing about double that. I just programmed dos to change 4 L between 12 and 2 pm, and it breaks it down into a 12 doses spaced over the two hours. The DOS is Noisy when running at high speed so you will want to do the awc when you are not around...
I am fine tuning my safety system. I’ll do a detailed vid on my installation once everything is working up to my expectations
Cheers!

You for sure know when the DOS is running! I am using mine to dose small amounts of kalk daily, it is doing .6ml intervals and I know when it runs! hahaha

Yeah - it’s not a silent doser for sure. Mine is in the basement. It’s actually not pretty bad if the door from the basement up to the first floor is closed, but you can still pick up on the sound if you are sensitive to noise

Ok here is a vid on automatic water changes with the dos, along with my anti-gravity siphon safety system

Awesome. All looks great, but that big ole Oregon tortuosa (I assume) at the 12 minute mark is killer.

Will do one! Yep a few month away from 3 years. Acropora are already getting too close to one of the Sides (I knock off branches when cleaning glass. So far I have been heavily pruning to keep things in check
Cheers!

@tenurepro can we get a full tank shot from the front? You're coming up on three years for this tank. Any idea when the SPS will outgrow it? At some point you'll have to cut back branches to keep pace with growth?

I’ve been planning a few vids to celebrate the tank’s 3 year anniversary in a couple of weeks.

Here is the first

A video on my thoughts about the best and worst reefing equipment based on my 3 year experience with the Redsea reefer 250
Hope you like it!

Thank you for taking the time to make this video! I feel a lot better about using my MP10s on my future reefer 250 build

Yeah the mp10s do fine on the reefer 250 provided that
1)you suspend them from the little black brackets with zip ties (as per ecotech’s mounting instructions)
2) avoid running them on short pulse mode or nutrient transport mode where the max intensity is 90% or higher... when one pump cycles down to 10% and the opposite pump will be at 90% - the strong water flow hitting the nearly idle pump can sometimes knock it off the glass because the magnets of the Mp10s are not rated for the Redsea reefer 250.

I didn’t consider that as a problem of the mp10 per say in the review because the Mp10s is explicitly not rated for the reefer 250 glass. (Is you can’t fault a product of you are trying to run it above specs). My pumps would occasionally fall (maybe one a month) till I discovered the 90% trick and haven’t fell since. They are sweet pumps!
