Morning all,

Just a quick one. I have my saltwater setup and its been running for a good few months now. I have 2 clown fish in my tank and was wondering if it would be alright to add a teracotta pot to my tank for my clown fish? Just don't want it messing anything up. And how should I wash it before adding it to my tank.. With saltwater?

Thank you.

Be sure to get clean (unused), unglazed and unpainted terracotta. Since the pots generally come from nurseries, they could possibly contain a drop of pesticide or other contaminants. They probably don't, but just to be safe, I boil mine in plain tap water for about 10 minutes.

After it cools, rinse in fresh water and allow to air dry. You should be good to go.
