Terrible emergency, Velvet

If you are getting rid of lr and ls as stated in the first post, I would still insist that the dt is the most appropriate place for treatment. Without cycled media, it's the only appropriate place, IMHO. Water changes to reduce ammonia will also reduce the copper, making it a little trickier to keep the level right. Please don't add any more Cupramine without the appropriate test kit.

they are all dead I lost all of my fish including my dear 11yo true percale clown and my 6-7 yo blue spotted watchman goby who I call Puff Daddy because he was so big and beautiful. I am in mourning.... I must have done a few things right as I have kept these fish alive and well for all of these years. But I was ill equipped to treat them properly once ill.....
I will never forget this and always quarantine new fish regardless of the source. I am heartbroken...
Thank you all for trying your best to advise me

thanks for the support... My heart is truly helped by all of your replies. I will try again and have a beautiful mature tank that awaits fish that I will do my best to keep happy and healthy. Perhaps I will be able to again raise fish that will live for many years. Still missing my clown... woke up to her beauty every morning for 11 yrs....

Sorry to hear. My tank as far as I know was parasite free for the past few years. Always coppered or treated. Made an impulse buy at my local shop and had an emergency come up so I just acclimated into my DT and boom. Long story short, I lost my male onyx, my wyoming white pair, my chevron i've had since he was a dime, and 5 of my wrasses. This was in the past week. I was able to pull out my picasso and a banggai. I have one loepard wrasse still in DT that i'm having the hardest time getting out, but he's eating and no signs at all. Hopefully i'll have better luck tomorrow but he's smart as heck.

Mark Callahan, Mr. Saltwater Tank, a celebrity, and well-known reefer, lost almost everything in his tank a little while back due to Velvet.
