Hi

I am quite upset about myself. I haven't been feeling well about the fish these days and made another mistake today. I mistakenly ran the reactor in the wrong configuration and leak lots of active carbon into the main tank. I shutoff the flow immediately but the damage was too big. Now all the active carbon is pretty much on the sandbed and I try to get the three fishes to the quarantine tank.

What's the best action now? 100% water change and pretty much remove the whole sandbed to redo it?

I feel so upset about myself with such a basic mistake.

No need to panic or do 100% water change.. just carefully scoop out what you can and suck the rest out when you are doing your regular water changes. It wouldn't hurt to do more frequent changes if you want to expedite removal.

Thank you so much! I essentially set up the filter pad in the wrong order and it doesn't block the media.

Will start getting water for another water change soon so that I can suck them up.

i am also thinking to net the sandbed and get out as much as it can.

Salt and pepper effect and no effect on the tank.

As others have said, no big deal. Just remove what you see.

Removal is easy !!

When I was doing that in the last 30 minutes , this picture kept coming to me. I used a syphon with the hose going back to the filter so I can continuosly sucking them up. It worked really well and I removed probably 50 %

Thank you all again. I doubt I would be able to remove all of them but this is not that bad.
