Terrified blue hippo tang

So every time I walk into the room with the aquarium, my tang goes straight into the rocks and hides until I leave. Why is this and is there anything I can do to make this not happen, its becoming a problem feeding

Also what size tank? They become very skittish in small tanks.. They cant run from you so they hide. They are used to roaming a long way in the sea.

I have one in QT right now that freaks every time I walk in. I've kept a few smaller ones and they always take a long time to get used to people. I had one that hid for half the day because I changed the color of it's Nori.

The Lavender I have in QT right now did this for a while. He would dart into the 2" pcv elbow I had in there. He is getting better. Just takes time.

I have him in a 50 gallon. He's only like an inch and a half and I know I will have to find him a new home eventually. He never eats with the rest of the fish

What other fish (( dither )) do you have in there?

Is it a tank that people normally walk by? Or only when you are feeding?

I have a clown and a damsel and I have a mandarin in the refugium that's soon to go into the dt. All the fish in the tank are 2 inches or less. And its in a bedroom so I'm in there frequently

Its an azure damsel and doesn't show any aggression at all
