So in my aquarium I have 1 damsel that has been in it for awhile and a lawnmower blennie. Yesterday I attempted to introduce a new damsel to my aquarium and the other damsel has killed it by 1 o'clock today. I know damsels can grow territorial. If I introduce many damsels at a time will it get overwhelmed and not try to kill it? Is there anything I can do to keep this from happening again?

You can move around the rock work just prior to adding the new fish, another option might be to place the current Damsel in a breed box or sump while the new fish acclimate for a couple days. Turning off the lights during introduction can help as well. The current Damsel my very well pick off each new fish starting with the weakest one even if you introduce multiple fish. Your best bet is changing up the territory and or removing the Damsel to allow the other fish time to acclimate.

If this a reef tank i would not have damsels period. Not only can they be mean to each other they can also cause havoc with other prized fish. In a reef they are almost impossible to get them out of tank.

Number 1 mistake, adding a damsel as the 1st fish to your tank. Or any in my opinion, lol. Mean little things they are! Got rid of all of ours, they have the worst case of '' little man syndrome'' no offense. Lol
