My Yellow Eye Kole Tang is ruthless. Will he kill my new Convict?

The word is "depends". Once the Kole Tang establishes his dominance, he should back off a bit. But if your Convict is too stressed out or doesn't fight back, well then yes, he could possibly die. It all depends on the fish and their dispositions/personalities. I know this isn't the answer you wanted, but unfortunately, it is the way it works out. Some people separate fish to start with in clear containers so they can see each other but not get injured.

Convict cannot even rest anywhere until lights out. Kole pushes him out of every spot. If Convict goes near the Koles nest he has dug then it's brutal. Convict eats tho.... ☹

The easy solution is to put the Convict (or the Kole) in an acclimation/isolation box until the Kole loses interest in the new arrival. They'll probably scuffle over food or space occasionally but not the constant harassment which can kill the convict.

I've had a lot of success with acclimation boxes. It's really just a case of letting some of the aggression burn out to give the new fish a fighting chance.
