Terry's 180 SPS Peninsula Upgrade

It's been far too long since I have updated this thread.

Tank is humming along. SPS are growing and coloring up light mad. Having the sump in the basement has been a godsend. I do all of my testing, water-changes and what not down there. I am still working on getting the area cleaned up, but I love it. The tank is crazy quiet upstairs now. We get a tiny bit of splashing noise from the Gyre breaking the water's surface, but the Beananimal drain is silent.

Yay for updates! I like the stand idea. I like the open areas.

Thanks Rev!

The plan was to try to keep it as open as possible. I like the idea of having one section closed off for a cabinet

Finally an update. Glad everything is working out for you so far! Wish we had basements down here in FL. Does your tank always get sunlight like that? If so, are you having any problems with algae?

Tank gets about an hour of afternoon sun. I have had no issues with algae. There are no nutrient in the tank to feed it. PO4 is .02, NO3 is 0.

Sunlight= Free PAR.

Love the stand idea Terry...that is going to look great. The tank is looking fantastic as well. A build you should be very proud of!

That's awesome I love the build I do have a question do you live in a hot part of the states those windows are right on your glass can poss make tank temp rise and drop could spike your water ? Tent them maybe ? I don't know looks cool love the stand

Great update! Tank is really coming along. I'm wondering why your going to sheath that stand in paper? Won't the water damage it? LOL, that's gonna look hot when it's done!

Just caught up on this build, wow, looks great man! Your tank always looks so picture perfect, I love seeing that, inspires me.

Nice and can't wait to see it finished!

Nice update, skin looks awesome! Are you planning on putting any pieces of wood in front of those two uprights in the middle?

The plan is to make the far left section a cabinet for the electronics and food and what not. I have the wood cut, I just have to install it. The middle and right compartment will be left open.
