Terry's 180 SPS Peninsula Upgrade

I've had no issues with dosing NOPOX.

I add no other bacteria to the tank.

Looking for some advice here...

I saw a gorgeous Mimic Tang at a LFS today. I came very close to pulling the trigger. In my 180 I currently have a Yellow, Hippo, Desjardini Sailfin and Blonde Naso. Everyone currently gets along, with the very occasional bit of aggression. Am I playing with fire if I add the mimic?

This build is beautiful. What made you switch from the hybrid T5 fixture?

I would say so especially since your other tangs have already staked out their territory. I have 6 tangs which were added almost at the same time and the fighting can get intense at times.

The decision was made for me. A friend picked it up. But thank you guys for the input.

Couple of quick updates...

I shot an video walk through of the basement setup:

I also purchased a Nest Cam for the basement. It's one thing to be able to see the the PH and Temp on Apex Fusion, but if we are away, it is really nice to be able to see the water level in the sump, as well as the Skimmer:

Does the nest cam hook directly up to the apex?

Great video!!! Thanks for posting it!

Just curious, how did you get your baseline dose for kalkwasser and how big of a kalkwasser dosing container would you recommend. I only have the room under my tank so I can't do a 5 gallon bucket. I use the slim BRS containers for my two part so thats what I would most likely like to use for the kalk. I have never used kalk before so any information you are willing to provide would be great. The other option would be to just add it to my 5 gallon ATO reservoir but you had said you don't like that. Thanks in advance

I slowly added, checking the Alk daily. I'm up to like 500 ml over the course of the night, in 50 ml doses. I am just not a fan of kalk in the top off, too dependent on evap.
