So was looking at various testing threads and decided to make a list of test kits which reviews seem to yield more consistent and true results. What you think?

Ya I know API but don't test ammonia and Trites hardly ever.

Here is my test kit list:

Phos - Hanna
Alk - Hanna
Cal - Salifert
Mag- Salifert
Nitrate - Red Sea
Ammo - API
Nitrite - API

The list looks good - but consistent results are not the same as true result, nor are they entirely dependant on the test kit. User error is generally the most common issue with hobby grade kits.

That said, I prefer the Nysos nitrate kit to the Red sea, after using both for a few years. Its a bit easier test to read, but there isnt a high/low test with Nysos. Red Sea give you more of a usable range though, so really its based on your intended nitrate level. :)

Thanks. I'll look into nyos. I do like to run higher trates as I think coral coloration seems deeper/better.

I use the Red Sea Pro test for nitrate. It is more sensitive than the basic test going down to ,25 ppm.

I use the Salifert magnesium also.
