Hi reefers! I am trying to dial in my consumption so I am testing Alk, Calcium, and Magnesium every day with the Red Sea Foundation Pro kit. My question is do I need to / should I be rinsing out the syringe for the reagent between tests? Maybe I am a little OCD but after each test I rinse everything with tap, then fill the vial with RODI and run 3-4ml through each syringe, then give everything one more rinse in RODI. From here they go in to a tupperware drying tray with a paper towel at the bottom.

Bonus question: Do you squirt whatever reagent is left in the syringe back in to the bottle or down the sink?

I do exactly what you're doing.

Nothing goes back into the reagent jar other than a clean syringe. If I could autoclave my syringes I would.

I rinse my stuff and let dry. Rainwater out of the tap. I also squirt the unused portion back into the bottle.
