Ok so here is mr problem. I have two different test kits. One is tetra easystrips 6-1. And the other one is saltwater master liquid test kit, tests for high rage ph, ammonia (NH3/NH4+), nitrite (NO2), nitrate (NO3). So my problem is each one is giving me a different results. The 6-1 test strip say my nitrates are high, and the saltwater master kit says there are no nitrates. Which one do I trust? And has anyone had problems with either test kits? Thank you!

P.s Both test kits read the same are every thing else. The only thing that I am getting conflicting result on are nitrates. And again the test strips and the liquid test kit give the same result on ammonia, ph, nitrite.

Don't trust the strips but make sure your are following the liquid test kit to the letter. You can get a false reading if not done exact.

I would definitely use liquid tests for something as important as nitrates. I stopped using the strips once I realized how off they could be. And I agree that you have to do the nitrate test exactly according to directions to get a good reading. Good luck!
